Misdemeanor Offenses

Misdemeanor offenses are categorized into three classes; A, B, and C.
A class A misdemeanor is punishable by 364 days in jail and a $2500 fine.
A class B misdemeanor is punishable by 180 days in jail and a $1500 fine.
A class C misdemeanor is punishable by 30 days in jail and a $1500 fine.

Misdemeanor offenses deserve serious attention because they can have serious ramifications in regards to employment, immigration, and residential opportunities.

From the initial consultation, I will identify the problems that a misdemeanor conviction could cause in your life. More importantly, we will discuss the options and strategies to minimize any impact on your life.

In any misdemeanor case, the ultimate goal is to prevent a conviction on your record.

Oft times, the type of charge and a client’s criminal history will determine how to reach that goal.  In cases that are more serious, the goal may simply be to avoid jail time.

I look forward to working with you, the client, to guide you through the misdemeanor process.  I am readily available to discuss any questions or issues that arise throughout the life of your case.

There are instances where the facts do favor the defendant.

It is important to hire an attorney that can identify favorable facts and use those facts to an advantage.  I have litigated motions to suppress, jury trials, or bench trials to maximize your results in a misdemeanor case.
